The Search For Becoming Enough

A Memoir Wrestling Through A Difficult Father Son Relationship

Wouldn’t it be great if we could choose our own family?

“At 13 years old, my three friends and I stole a church bus and accidentally crashed it into the back of a building. All 4 of us had something in common and I didn’t realize it until I was 57 years old when one of those dudes reminded me of it. He said, “There was only one thing we all needed that we never got…to be loved by our dads. We weren’t loved by our dads. That’s what we all had in common.”

Our Deepest Struggles Can Be Our Greatest Gifts

As dads, how do we give a blessing when we didn’t get one? (Or did we miss it?)

Now as a man, I realized my dad did love me…he just didn’t know how to. I sometimes wonder if that hurts more.

Being Enough Is An Inside Job

This memoir is not a ‘three step process’ to the way out.
It is the way in which leads to the way through. There is no way out.

Helping to restore the sacred bonds between fathers and sons.

Finding Dad

The Media Project & Book

Finding Dad is the true life story of Mark Campbell wound around the Biblical narrative of Jacob, both wrestling, striving and searching for “the Blessing”. The Blessing is that thing, how ever it comes, that lets us know that we are enough as humans and what we bring people blesses them. More times than not it sadly never comes.

Finding Dad is a multifaceted project including book, short films and social media to encourage men and women in their pursuit of healing wounds left by dads, who weren’t available for whatever reason.
